Stayed in Cabin #5 "Midnight Roost" with my wife. Only concern for others is that the bathroom is pretty small, so if you're a larger person ask when you make reservation. Friendly host and very quick and easy check in procedure. We both have traveled a good deal at "finer" hotels yet enjoy the "camp" feel here and again, the location is great for town touring (short drive). As I said, we've stayed twice, will stay again. The cabin is fairly rustic, the linens and pillows could use an update, but perfectly acceptable especially considering price. There is a small but perfectly fine shower, (wish there were a bathtub). We'll go a little bigger to a kitchenette if we stay a week. We stay in one of the smallest cabins, and yes, it is a bit tight, but all that we need including a half fridge, flat screen TV, chairs, vanity. Also, as we like to tour around downtown Asheville, the cabin is literally about a ten minute drive from downtown. There are several good restaurants within minutes drive (check out the Italian one next door to The Fresh Market just down the street-real NY style Italian food=Mario's I think). We stayed two nights and plan to stay a week or two next year. It is such a nice change of pace from a hotel.

The charm of a past era of motor court cabins, sleeping with the windows open, fresh air, coffee on the front porch in the morning (good coffee provided made in our cabin with the coffeemaker).all at a bargain price. Our second stay at Log Cabin Motor Court was even better than the first one a year ago. The waiter was super friendly and after a great german schwarz weisse, he brought out some of their house made brats - fantastic! We are planning to go back in December for the Christmas Jam and will be staying at the Log Cabin MC again! My intention was to have a quick beer and read a bit in their outdoor seating area. I went down one late afternoon to the Bavarian restaurant while my wife slept. They were very friendly and very nice to our dogs. A couple times, when I was out sitting ont he deck, they came over to see if we needed anything.

We did not notice at all and there were not enough noises to even get our dogs going! The staff was wonderful. Others have complained about noise as the property backs up to Hwy26 and has a fairly busy entrance road.

The weather was great and the open windows were all we needed to sleep great.

Inside the feeling was rustic, the furniture handmade and save for the small refridgerator, unobtrusive flat screen tv and AC unit behind a curtain felt like a step back in time. We had a great little deck with rocking chairs and a table. Our cabin was but one room with a bathroom off the rear. You can just see the old model T's rumbling down a path in the forest having brought the family out for a little rejuvination.

The whole place is great! A group of cabins built in the 30's in what was (and still is, although alot smaller!) a great pine forest. We were given the Happy Haven (Cabin #9) which has just been remodeled/redecorated. We made our reservations on Friday for a Sat and Sun stay. My wife found this place on line and it looked cute enough, the price was nice and they took pets. Last year we rented a cabin south of town but this time we wanted to bring our dogs. We come out to Asheville a few times a year and usually stay in a B&B. I guess this just wasn't the experience they were looking for.My wife and I came for the weekend LAAFF festival in Asheville and the Apple festival in Hendersonville. We do not advertise as an isolated cabin in the woods and have capacity recommendations for a reason. As for ducking to get into the bathroom, the lower door frames are part of the historic charm of the cabins, this is how they were built in the 1920's. There is a small place to hang your clothes, a chest of drawers and a luggage rack in the cabin, again, perhaps a larger cabin would have been more suitable for them. The cabin this guest chose has a fireplace and a queen bed and is advertised as having a capacity of 2 people, this guest had 3 which I'm sure made it feel cramped. A lot of our guests enjoy the fact that the cabins are close together, enhancing the experience of a historic motor court, chatting to other guests while you enjoy a good book on the porch. While we are located in a natural setting, traffic noise is part of the convenience of being less than 6 miles to the center of town. Our website states that the cabins are located between US 25 and US 19-23 and is less than 6 miles to downtown Asheville. I'm sorry this guest was disappointed with her stay.
